Let's get to know these fucking crazy people!
Erik Anderson joins awkward silence as the beloved tech guy. Tapping into his untamed powers of precise sound cueing and pressing buttons, he flawlessly highlights the action on the stage with great fervor. Erik has worked on a number of shows at Players By the Sea, most recently as Sound Designer for Rent and The Lyons of their 2013-14 season. He is excited to join this club of comics out of the spotlight, because this is supposed to be funny, remember?

Jason Collins was born and raised as a human in 1971. His mom and dad conceived Jason in what I hope was either in the doggy position or in a community orgy in the month of August… I came out in the month of march which meant my folks got it on sometime in August of 1970... Probably under the guise of tequila, Sonny and Cher, and bad polyester clothing. I was a month early which must have meant even my mothers vagina didn’t want me… I guess I cooked enough. Umm anyway, not bitter… moving on.
I took almost $70,000.00 of the governments’ money so I could have a fancy piece of paper on the wall that says I went there. Thanks Ferrum College. I’m sure I’ll pay it back like this month. I then took the next 22 years bouncing around America doing plays and being funny and shit. Now, I have a real job. I live with two women in a Jack Tripper, Three’s Company sort of way. My life is cool. I have no STD’s so that’s good. Ummm. Let’s see. Born. Check. Job. Check. Live with two women. Check, Ohh Shit, yeah. Umm, I direct and perform. Here. In Jacksonville. I like tacos. And bourbon. Let’s see…. Yeah. That’ll do it. If you ever see only one movie make it The ROOM. Thanks for coming out! |
David Girard was most recently seen as Belize in Angels in America. His other credits include always being cast as gay, black, or old. David is shy. In other news, people have seen him performing on the Main Street bridge singing that old classic, Because She Wouldn't. David enjoys long walks on the beach, horoscope jewelry, and acting. David is a gemini.

T.R. Hainline has been doing improvisation and sketch comedy for most of his life, because he’s pretty much winged it through marriage, fatherhood, and a legal career for the past thirty years or so. He’s also made it up while doing community theater, including Glengarry Glen Ross, Merchant of Venice, Art, and Urinetown at Players-by-the-Sea, American Buffalo at Theatre Jacksonville, and Amadeus with the Jacksonville Symphony. He’s happy to be able to continue his well-worn bit with the funny and talented people in Awkward Silence, and he’d like to thank Gary for initiating this project and making it possible!

Jennifer Johnston has been awkward since childhood, and started performing in local theatre as a form of art therapy. You may remember her as Helga in Cabaret and or Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire at Amelia Community Theatre. She was later cast as a grumpy preacher's wife in Seven Brides For Seven Brothers at Alhambra Dinner Theatre, then as a bubbly chorus girl in White Christmas and Crazy For You. After this turn of good fortune, which she is convinced only occurred because her parents called in a few favors, she was cast in Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson as Rachel Jackson at Players By The Sea. She was very excited to accept a lead role, but was killed off in the first act. She then played Jennifer in Beehive at PBTS, which was exciting because she didn't have to memorize a new name, and "Jennifer" survived through to the curtain call. She would like to thank her parents for the pep talks and payoffs, Gary and the entire AS crew for allowing her to set free her true awkwardness, and to the audience for supporting live theatre and comedy.

Nicole Kosnik is so honored to be working with Awkward Silence. Rumors were spreading that the group planned on performing in pitch black and distributing night vison goggles, but lucky for Nicole, budget costs forced them to get a lighting tech. When Nicole is not staring at all the pretty colors on stage with Awkward Silence, she can be found equally mesmerized at Players by the Sea. Nicole's lighting credits include: Passing Strange, Beehive the Sixties Musical, and The Fox on the Fairway, all of which were well lit for optimal visibility.
